Taro = I love rye and burbon whisky but I don't know scotch whisky at all.

Taro = I 'm intersted in scotch whisky and also I can learn something fun about scoth whisky, I think.
Makiko = I want to know & enjoy whisky with my husband !

Drinking strong Mugi-Shochu everyday, It sometimes reminds me aroma of Whisky, especially made of malt.
So it's time to get back to the whisky world.

なぜウィスキーライブに参加されましたか？(なるべく明確にご回答ください) お酒が好きです。ウィスキーについては詳しくないのですが、これからもっと楽しみたいので、このイベントで学びたいと思い、参加します.

Do you drink whisky regularly? Oh yes indeed, Suntory,Nikka, Jameson's, Jim Beam or Jack.
Do you know much about whisky? Well, I feel I have a somewhat strong sense of knowledge as my elders have educated me well, beginning with my Pops and colleagues in the restaurant/hospitality business, but still of course have loads more to know. That goes for anything.
Why do you want to go to Whisky Live 2009? Just like the other popular flavor of the world that is tequila, whisky/whiskey have such a varied levels of intensity and complexity that you'd never expect to know until researching into it further. Tequila Jack's in Long Beach, California taught me that back over 10 years ago when working for a radio station there and we held an event there. Not to mention, having a true Mexian roommate while attending UCSB for summer school gave me additional insights into what IS truly good tequila. I am looking forward to getting a wholehearted education come Sunday at Whisky Live 2009. After all, while Jim Beam and Jack are the staples of rock and roll and blues, there is so much more out there to sample and duly savor.

なぜウィスキーライブに参加されましたか？ 友人に誘われて、楽しそうなイベントなのでウィスキーについて知るいい機会だと思いました。

Do you drink whisky regularly? Yes. Although I go for quality over quantity so my idea of regular may not meet your average drinkers criteria.
Do you know much about whisky? Yes, although I only started drinking whisky recently. I have spent some time online learning more about it and its production. The proprietor of a local bar near my studio is a whisky connoisseur and he has a great collection of rarer whiskies and bourbons that he dusts off every now and then to serve me. Specifically I love Scottish single malts preferably from the Speyside region but as I learn I find that there are evermore breweries and regions to explore so my list of favourites seems to be getting longer and longer.
Why do you want to go to Whisky Live 2009? I am so excited to go and learn more about whisky in person rather than through the internet portal, the whisky experience is about just that - experiencing - so I am looking forward to meeting and hearing experts in the field talk about their craft, hopefully I'll get to sample some and expand the knowledge I have about my new found passion.

I had a big fun and really enjoyed.
I learned many kings of whisky and enjoyed the different tastes.
たくさんの種類のウィスキーがあり、様々な味を楽しみました。
I became a big fun of Naomi Grace, she was so pretty and even cute.

What did you think of Whisky Live?
I was very impressed. The whole event was organised very well and the selection of whiskies on offer was superb. There was freely available drinking water and a clear effort to keep everyone drinking responsibly so it was very refreshing and educational.
Was there anything surprising - or did you learn something?
I was completely surprised by a rare 16 yr Port Casked Islay single malt that really stood out from the rest and throughout the day I learned that, as a relatively new drinker of single malt whisky, my palate is not quite as sophisticated as I had thought and tends towards the more commercial brands of whisky, I found the speciality whiskies a little overwhelming and complex for my immediate tastes. I was also surprised at the ability to try genuinely rare whiskies, or at the least very old and expensive ones.
A true pleasure.
Will you drink whisky again & come to Whisky Live again in the future?
Absolutely, armed with a deeper knowledge of what to look, and taste for in a premium whisky I am now confident enough to invest in a bottle or two that I can genuinely savour. Whisky Live is perfect for exploration and experimentation and I would definitely love to go again.

What did you think of Whisky Live?
Taro -> 沢山のウィスキーが紹介されていて、その多くが試飲できたので、様々なウィスキーを比較できました。楽しかったです。一つだけ残念なことがありました。比較的専門的な知識を持っている人を想定しているのか、初歩的な質問をしにくい雰囲気がありました。もっと基本的な情報を分かりやすい言葉で説明してくれるセッションや冊子があると、初心者も気軽に楽しめるのではないでしょうか。
Makiko -> 今までほとんどウィスキーを飲んだことが無かったので、一度にいろんな種類のウィスキーを試飲することが出来て楽しかったです。飲んだ後に甘い後味だったバーボンが一番おいしかったです。

Taro -> 思ったよりずっと沢山の人が参加していたこと。他の参加者はお酒関連の仕事をしている人たちがほとんどのように見受けられたこと。
Makiko -> ウィスキーは、飲んだ瞬間は味が無いように感じましたが、飲んだ後、つまり後味がとても良い飲み物だと初めて知りました。驚きました。
Will you drink whisky again & come to Whisky Live again in the future?
Taro -> ウィスキーは自分なりに今後も楽しみます。　Whisky　L:iveは、初心者や、興味を持っているがはじめの一歩を踏み出せない人に対して優しい会になればまた参加したいです。
Makiko -> 今回のイベントに参加して、ウィスキーの見方が変わりました。今後はウィスキー好きな旦那さんと共に、ウィスキーが楽しめそうです。

ウイスキーライブ２００９のチケットありがとうございました。
とても楽しい1日を過ごすことができました。会場中にウイキーのいい匂いがたちこめていて、たくさんの人で込み合っていて、すごく活気がありました。いろんなライブ演奏が何度もあって、それもとても楽しめました。そして、リチャードパターソンさんのブレンディングデモンストレーションを見て、ウイスキーの正しい飲み方を楽しく教わりました。彼の楽しいパフォーマンスにみんな盛り上がっていました。もちろん来年もウイスキーライブに参加して、美味しいウイスキーとチョコレート、そしてライブを楽しみたいと思いす。
I enjoyed the WHISKY LIVE 2009 very much.
The hall was spread very good whisky smell and so many people there were.
I tried a lot of whiskies and chocolates, and enjoyed live performances.
I learned the correct way to drink whisky from blending demonstration.
That demonstration was very interesting because Richard Paterson was an amusing performer.
I’m looking forward to seeing you next event.

What a splendid event, with the music and the finest "waters of life" from around the world, it was like a reception party to a whiskey lover's paradise. I found the atmosphere to be reflective of the finer tastes and instincts of the whiskey lover, who has an innate appreciation of quality over quantity.
Whiskey is a drink that it is true to itself, so much can be understood by it's fragrance, and the slightest sip... that it can be enjoyed without excess, without loss of judgement, and I have always felt it makes the drinker far more sociable than other alcohols which are more readily available.
It is fortunate that a class of Japanese ladies and gentleman have preserved the love of whiskey and it will be good if that art is discovered by new generations.
I want to thank Whiskey Magazine and the various distillers and importers for giving us such a pleasant event and opportunity to sample many unique, rare and delicious blends which will make our future evenings, tastings, and fellowships more intimate.
For of course, no sensation is more closely associated with a sip of whiskey than warmth.

Awesome-a most delightfullly disturbing range of global whiskeys to savo was presented.
Was there anything surprising - or did you learn something?
Bangalore, India and BLACKADDER make the most dangerously delicious party whisky.
Will you drink whisky again & come to Whisky Live again in the future?
That's a no-brainer. I will gladly be a repeat offender and will tell others to join along.

I joined Whisky Magazine Live! 2009 last Sunday.
It's the third time and I had a great time drinking various whiskies at this event.
There, lots of brands unvail some new or precious whiskies every year.
You may think that you need to nose when drink whisky like wine lovers do,
but, of course that is one of enjoyment, don't think difficultly, you should drink
how you want to drink.
For me, 2008 was the year that I started to drink Japanese whiskies frequently
and I found their tastes and flavours are also nice . For instance, "Hakushu" is
one of my favorite whiskies.
But I tested some Duncan Taylor's whiskies there, I couldn't think of Japanese whiskies.
It's unbelievable. I'll have that moment forever.
